What is Anorectal Manometry?

Anorectal manometry is a diagnostic test used to assess the function of the muscles and nerves in the rectum and anus, helping evaluate how well they control bowel movements. The test measures sphincter pressure, rectal sensation, rectal compliance, and muscle coordination. These measurements are crucial in diagnosing conditions like constipation, fecal incontinence, and pelvic floor disorders, particularly when nerve or muscle damage from surgery, disease, or diabetes is suspected.

At Laborie, we’re dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with pelvic floor disorders by integrating the latest advancements in diagnostic and treatment solutions, in collaboration with leading clinicians and universities.
