Hydrogen breath monitoring to help detect gastro-intestinal disorders.

- Overview

HYDROGENIUS is a hydrogen (H2) breath monitor used to measure hydrogen levels in expired breath. It can be used to detect gastro-intestinal disorders like food malabsorption, sugar intolerances and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) in a non-invasive, patient friendly manner.

HYDROGENIUS is a user-friendly, hand-held monitor that allows automatic testing for up to 10 patients in one session. It can be used without any start up time, gives instant results and has built-in suggested testing protocols and alarms for even more ease of use.

+ Clinical Information

Hydrogen Breath Testing

Hydrogen Breath Testing (HBT) is a non-invasive, sensitive means of detection for gastro-intestinal disorders. Hydrogen breath tests make use of gut bacteria’s ability to digest sugars and convert these to hydrogen, which is then absorbed into the blood and can be measured in exhaled breath. The tests can be used to detect gastro-intestinal disorders like food malabsorption, sugar intolerances and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).
