President and Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining LABORIE, Mike served for 11 years at Smith & Nephew plc (LON: SN), a $4.8 billion Medical Technology company. He joined Smith & Nephew as President of its Endoscopy Global Business Unit, then served as President of its Advanced Surgical Devices Division, comprised of the Orthopedic, Trauma, and Endoscopy businesses. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer for Smith & Nephew, leading the global operations of the entire company. Mike successfully led the business in both profitable organic growth, as well as strategic mergers and acquisitions. Mike’s previous experience includes executive leadership roles at Kendall Healthcare, Tyco Healthcare, and CEO of MicroGroup, a privately-held medical manufacturing business in Massachusetts.

Kelley Martin
Chief of staff

Kelley brings 30 years of experience managing the offices of C-level executives and Presidents.  She joined LABORIE after 21 years with Smith & Nephew, a publicly-traded medical device company.  Her background includes a decade with Daly & Company, a privately-held professional services firm where she held various positions including Office Manager, Vice President of Operations and General Manager. Early in her career she supported senior partners of international and national accounting and law firms from their Boston offices.  Kelley has an AS degree from Bryant University.

Chief Financial Officer

Walter brings over two decades of financial leadership experience to his role. Prior to joining LABORIE, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Dynacare for 12 years, Senior Vice President of Finance at Mosaic Sales Solutions and Senior Manager at KPMG in Toronto.

A Chartered Professional Accountant, Walter holds a Bachelor’s in Economic History from Swansea University and an MBA from Queen’s University.


Managing Director, GLOBAL – GI

Holger leads the European and International organization and is responsible for sales, marketing, and operations.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the life science and healthcare industry serving as President and European Managing Director for Ormco (Danaher) Dental EMEA & India as well as assignments with Ansell Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson and ConvaTec

Holger holds a degree in Marketing Communications and has completed several executive management courses in J&J, Stanford and Danaher.



Ian is responsible for all marketing functions.

Prior to joining LABORIE he was the Director of Medtronic’s Cardiac Vascular group in Canada, where he worked for 8 years in various marketing functions. Before Medtronic, Ian was with Bristol Myers Squibb’s stand-alone medical imaging division in Sales and Marketing. Ian also worked at Maxxam Analytics, Canada’s largest private analytical testing laboratory.

Ian has an Honours Biology and Business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.


Christine is responsible for our entire business performance in Emerging Markets and Professional Education.

Prior to joining LABORIE, Christine worked for more than 25 years for Smith & Nephew, always in International business. She has an extensive breadth of global market development, marketing, sales operations and professional education experience in the medical technology space.  She also has significant experience leading distributor-based businesses, which is core to our Emerging Markets strategy.



Craig is responsible for Urology market development in the United States. He has 25 years of medical sales and sales management experience. Craig holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Southern Methodist University.


Wilfried Woesthuis
Director of Sales, GLOBAL – GI

Wilfried is responsible for sales of LABORIE’s GI products through our global network of international distributors.

Before joining LABORIE, he served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Medical Measurement Systems (MMS), a global market leader in gastrointestinal diagnostics and urodynamics.

Wilfried holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Commerce from Saxion University, Enschede, Netherlands.

Senior VICE PRESIDENT OF sales, global – UROLOGY

Chris brings over 20 years of Medical Device experience to his role.  Prior to joining LABORIE, he has held various senior leadership positions including Director of Sales for Boston Scientific’s Urology and Women’s Health Divisions, Regional Vice President at Smith & Nephew Orthopedics, and Global Commercial Director for the Cardiology, Neurovascular and Vascular division of Greatbatch Medical.

Chris was most recently the Vice President of Global Sales at Cogentix Medical where he led the Global Sales Team to record growth in the Uro/Urogyn franchises while integrating and expanding the global sales force.  He holds a Bachelor of Science from Centenary College of Louisiana.

Director of R&D, GLOBAL

Chris is responsible for leading the New Product Development (NPD) efforts within Urology. He has a strong passion leading and driving cross functional development teams to develop innovative products and thrives in high paced environments.

Prior to joining LABORIE, Chris served as a consultant within Honeywell and led the Verification and Validation project of the Airbus A350 Environmental Controllers to a successful Certification (CRC).

Chris is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada and holds a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from the University of Guelph. He is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
